The Gift of a Good Book

Educators donate children’s books to Canyon Vista Medical Center.

Every year a dedicated group of professional women educators from the Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma take up a collection of new children’s books to donate to all the babies born in the month of February at Canyon Vista medical center. The event is known as “Books from the Heart”. “The members of the epsilon chapter deeply care about every child’s education” says chapter president Dee Puff. “We hope that this donation will encourage early literacy and a lifelong love of reading,” she says.

This year’s donation of 155 books was gratefully accepted by Canyon Vista Medical Center’s Director of Women and Children Services Dana Albalate, RN, MSN and Educator Lisa Bland, RN–C, MSN, MHA, and Berlynda Schaaf, Registrar. The books will start being distributed to children born at Canyon Vista Medical Center beginning February 1, 2017.
