CVMC Supports Firefighting Efforts
110 Cases of Water Donated
With the simplest of gestures, Canyon Vista Medical Center donated 110 cases of drinking water to the Southern Arizona firefighters as they fought the Sawmill Fire. According to local news sources, the fire doubled in size on the afternoon of April 26 and has charred 40,350 acres. “We wanted to show our support to the men and women who are out there working to put this fire out” stated Randy Anderson, CEO of Canyon Vista Medical Center. The water was brought to SVFD Station 3 to be delivered to the crews.
Gina Florez, Pre-Hospital Coordinator and Betsy Brown, Physician/Provider Liaison, work closely with EMS Personnel in our community and were instrumental in getting the water donation coordinated. “The firefighters are working so hard to serve our community and keep us all safe. I hope they know how much we appreciate what we are doing” Florez said. Brown, expressing her gratitude to the crews on the front line, also wanted to thank Fry’s Food and Drug for making all this possible at the last minute, saying “our community is so amazing, when we see a need, we all come together to help. It’s what makes Sierra Vista and Cochise County such a wonderful place to live and work.”
