Willamette Valley Medical Center Stuffs the Bus

Food and Toy Drive Success

Willamette Valley Medical Center has a committee of volunteer employees who support community events and put on 2 individual events each year, including a Girls Night Out in May and a Toy and Food Drive in December. This past December, WVMC hosted its annual Stuff the Bus Food and Toy Drive. This year was the biggest year in the history of the event, with $4,378.28 donated, which equals 17,513 lbs of food + 5,350 lbs of canned food. Bi-Mart/Roth’s and Grocery Outlet hosted the school bus in their parking lots, and the 2016 committee reached out to local businesses to help with the drive. Linfield College even did their own food and toy drive and then participated in collecting items at 2 locations! Overall, we are proud to say that a TOTAL OF 22,863 lbs of food AND 311 toys were donated. WVMC couldn’t have done it without the help of all 611 employees and the generous community!
