Shoals Employees Go the Extra Mile

Child Expected to Make Full Recovery Thanks to Attentive Care at Shoals

In healthcare, clinicians often go the extra mile for patients.

At Shoals Hospital, Dr. Jason Lockett and RN Tonia Hargett took that idea an extra step in the Emergency Department. A grandmother presented on a Sunday evening with her five-year-old grandson, and it was clear that the child was in distress.

When a trip to another provider failed to result in a diagnosis, the two came to Shoals where his grandmother said, “He was given immediate attention, and tests were done to find out what was wrong. Dr. Lockett showed a lot of concern and was determined to know what was wrong with him. Tonia was also very caring and attentive with him.”

The child is expected to make a full recovery, and Dr. Lockett and Tonia confirmed that it’s cases like this that remind them why they’re both in healthcare.
