PRMC Hosts Community Baby Shower
New Parents and Expectant Mothers Supported at Community-Wide Event
Paris Regional Medical Center (PRMC) hosted its Second Annual Community Baby Shower on behalf of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The baby shower was open to the public and hosted a group of over 200 expectant mothers, new mothers, or mothers that recently had a baby.
Featured speakers at the event included Karen Bowmer, RN, Licensed Breastfeeding Consultant, and Dr. Mark Vaughn. This event showcased resources that the Women’s and Children’s Hospital provides to expecting and new families. Resources ranged from their Lactation Clinic, Prenatal Breastfeeding Support, and PRMC’s famous Baby University Class.
Over three-quarters of those in attendance either recently had their baby at PRMC, or they were planning on giving birth at PRMC in the near future. One-third of the attendees have been participants in the hospital outreach programs like Baby University and our Breastfeeding Support Group.
More than 1,500 donated diapers and 200 rolls of paper towels were raffled off to the attendees. The PRMC team ensured that not a single person went home empty-handed!
