ECM Patient Feels Peaceful Going Into Surgery

ECM Staff Assisted in Special Event for Patient

Billy Taylor came to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital as a patient on Sunday after his heart defibrillator stopped. Taylor’s family says he had another heart attack. Before heart surgery, Taylor told his family he wanted to be baptized before he went into surgery.

Surrounded by family, friends and nurses, Billy Taylor got baptized in his hospital room. Following the baptism, Pastor Larry Burbank prayed over his longtime friend.

“I feel a lot better about going in for surgery now,” said Taylor.

Pastor Burbank said once hospital staff was notified, things came together quickly.

“I believe it was God’s will for Billy to get baptized today. I’m so grateful we could make this happen here. It’s a very special day. We’re all proud of him.”
