Family Fun Day at Shoals Hospital

On Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, Shoals Hospital Hosted its First Family Fun Day

The event included a classic car and truck show, inflatables for the kids, members of our local first responders, and more than two dozen hospital and healthcare-related facilities provided informational booths. Further, children enjoyed free balloon animals and face painting, and everyone was able to take a turn spinning the Chick-fil-A wheel for a prize. In addition to being able to get good health-related information, Shoals Hospital also provided free health screenings that included blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol. Further, participants were able to meet one-on-one with potential health-care providers and schedule appointments, if needed. It’s a vital service for the community as we prepare for cold and flu season. Our goal for the event was to introduce members of the community to Shoals Hospital; we wanted those who attended to see us not just as health-care providers, but we wanted them to know that we’re their neighbors and friends.
An estimated 400-450 people attended, and, thanks to the turnout, it’s likely that the Shoals Hospital Family Fun Day will be an annual event!
