Clinton Memorial Hospital CMO Becomes a “Secret Shopper”
Dr. John Hollon Was Admitted to the Hospital and Had an Amazing Experience
Dr. John Hollon, our chief medical officer, unintentionally became (in his own words) a CMH “secret shopper” two weeks ago. After coming in with symptoms of lower abdominal and lower back pain, it was discovered that he had an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was quickly taken for a vascular procedure with Dr. Brian Santin and is now fully recovered. In his own words, “Everyone was tremendous. They were professional, attentive, concerned. I couldn’t have asked for any better attention or care. I felt a lot better right after the surgery. I was amazed by my lack of symptoms afterward—I actually went home the next morning. I don’t know how he [Dr. Santin] does it—magic, I think.” Dr. Hollon’s story reminded all of us why it’s so important to have excellent specialty care here at home, so that we can take care of our community members–and, at times, even our own friends and colleagues—when they need us most.
