April’s Positive Outlook
Paris Regional Medical Center Used Hyperbaric Therapy
The number 12 has become somewhat of a superstitious sign for April. Her story began back in 2012 when she moved to Paris, TX. On the 12th day of living in Paris she decided to join a friend for a night out. At 12 midnight, as they were driving home, April was sitting as a passenger in her friend’s car. Unfortunately the driver and April were involved in a t-bone accident. April suffered an injury that would leave her paralyzed from the waist down. April happened to be a new mother to an infant. She had to learn how to care for a baby, while learning how to live her life out of a wheelchair. Thankfully, April lives her life with a positive outlook. After many years of being in a wheelchair and living an active life, April noticed a sore on her leg. It was soon discovered that she developed a bone infection, which became a serious health threat to April’s active lifestyle. April sought treatment at Paris Regional Medical Center’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center to prevent the spread of her infection. The Wound Care team determined the use of hyperbarics to be a quick solution for April’s spreading infection. After a few short weeks of hyperbaric therapy April was cleared of her infection. She now lives a normal, but busy, life of being a single mother to two beautiful girls. PRMC’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center put her on the road to recovery!
